Ceramic pipes were manufactured 4,000 years ago

Scientists report that on the site of the ancient settlement of Pingliangtai—located where the modern city of Zhoukou now stands in central China—archaeologists have discovered the oldest known drainage system made of ceramic pipes. The age of this find is truly astounding: the ceramic pipes are approximately four thousand years old!!!

Each pipe segment measured between 20 and 30 cm in diameter, and between 30 and 40 cm in length. These segments were tightly fitted together to transport water over long distances.

This discovery proves that even at the dawn of human civilization, people were capable of tackling complex engineering challenges. In the Neolithic era, ceramic water pipes undoubtedly represented cutting-edge technology.

Ceramic pipes remain relevant even today. Inspired by the craftsmanship of ancient masters, WEARTECH specialists proudly offer modern ceramic pipes and linings that will last just as long.
